]]> https://pulseministries.org.uk:443/745/New-resources End of Summer highlights pulseministries_43578 Mon, 02 Sep 2024 10:26:59 +0100 As we draw to the end of the summer holidays and begin to look forward to September and all the excitement that brings, I can't help but reflect on how blessed we are! 

We were able to take part in three holiday clubs reaching over 200 children in total with the Gospel this summer. I cannot thank God enough for those opportunities. 

Our first holiday club we dived into the jungle and joined St Georges church, Wilton in Taunton and their team of volunteers to deliver their first holiday club in over 10 years! We were so excited to be journeying with them on this adventure. At first we were very worried as most of the team they had available to serve were over 70 years of age with a few 30's around. But it worked! Isn't God amazing! And aren't the faithful servants, these retired teachers and Sunday school teachers amazing! We brought utter chaos, games, craft and music and they loved it. They are already asking for the next one. 

Our second holiday club we were part of was at a church very experienced in running holiday clubs, but one we consult for. They have team and resources and run two a year but have got us on board to help them improve and develop the team with them. They dived into the Ocean for an under sea adventure and on our recommendation started to use prayer ministry times and soaking times with the Holy Spirit in their holiday club. They were able to see children engaging with the spirit and praying. How fantastic is that!

Our third and final holiday club was one where we weren't present at or consulting at but resourcing! We joined with Creech Baptist Church in Taunton to provide them with two van loads of stage decorations and props for their space themes holiday club. They are a thriving church who prioritise children and holiday clubs as they see the value in this. The problem they were finding was that they didn't have enough storage for all the holiday club equipment they kept creating and found between everyones lofts and sheds they were loosing bits and having to destroy or breakdown what they had created each year. We offered our 2000sq ft unit of space and said they could come borrow what they need to avoid making things they didn't have to and they could donate things they had for use by other churches too. The day they saw the unit for the first time was amazing! They were like children in a sweet shop!  

We feel so blessed we are able to help churches in so many different ways reach the children around them. Please continue to pray for us as we do this and please do consider if you could help support this work we do by either becoming a regular supporter or joining the traveling team.

Valerie Taylor who wrote this resource has served for over thirty years as Day Camp Director of Crosstalk Ministries, an ecumenical Christian charity based in Montreal, Canada but with world-wide connections. She also has extensive leadership experience in Children’s Ministry at the Parish, Diocesan and National Church level in the Anglican Church of Canada.
She enjoys practicing hospitality with people from every continent and lives with an exuberant Black Labrador Retriever in Montreal QC.

We are so excited to announce that we are releasing our first resource of the year today! This will be one mini booklet of a series covering tips and tricks for children's ministry.

These are FREE to download on the website, all you need to do is have a log in!

Pulse’s mission is to help train, equip and resource you to grow and develop yourchildren’s ministry and grow in confidence in what you do.

Our heart is for children’s lives to be transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit, webelieve that children are eager to meet with God in a real way and want to have anopportunity to respond to Him. We believe children have their own faith, their ownunderstanding and their own ministry in the Church.

We aim to engage children through the teaching of Bible stories, Christian values, andsharing the Gospel in many creative ways. We want to support you to do all this andmore! 

In a bid to do this we have created a series of helpful tips and tricks for you as people onthe front line of ministry to download and use. We will release these regularly to keep thehelp coming and welcome any suggestions for future releases.

Here at Pulse we are passionate about children and youth being able to access the Bible and understand it, and so part of that mission is to produce excellent quality resources for you to use with the young people you work with. We want to help you teach the Bible in a way that is accessible to them.

We have taken on the challenge of picking the most tricky subjects and will be releasing studies on as many of these as we can. We believe no topic in the Bible is inaccessible to children and young people and so want to help equip you to attempt these yourselves! 

This particular resource is a group Bible study on Revelation. It is 6 sessions long and will cover most of the book of Revelation. God has been so faithful in this move so far and we continue to see him moving through every step of this process.

Just the other day we were reminiscing about the first unit Pulse Ministries had back in January 2013 and how far Pulse has come in those years. We have managed to partner with countless churches in Equipping them for ministry amongst children and youth and have seen lives been changed by the Gospel. We hope and pray that as we move God would help open more doors and more opportunity for mission. 

We have a heart for Training, Equipping and Resourcing churches to go out and be missional in their contexts. There is a farmer on Grange Farm in Taunton who has lovingly re-purposed one of his cow sheds into a unit for us to use. He has spent a few months levelling floors, insulating walls and roof and giving it all a lick of paint. He has even installed electric and a small toilet and kitchen area!

We have been working hard with Church Pages to create a website that shouts about what we do. We are passionate about training, equipping and resourcing Gods kingdom, we want to help support churches in their own contexts to grow the kingdom of God where they are. 

We have made some improvements to the way the new website works, helping to resource our supporters even more. If you choose to support the work of Pulse on a regular basis you will gain access to our members only area in which you can download FREE resources that will help resource the work you are doing with children and youth in your context.

We have also been busy working with resource creators to create some excellent quality Bible study resources for 7-11 year olds and hope to be launching our first of these soon. Keep an eye out on our social media for announcements about this! Along with our Bible studies we are also working to create a fully downloadable holiday club resource for churches, so keep your eyes peeled for that too.
